ZOTEK foams are manufactured using the same high pressure nitrogen gas technology, which results in an unprecedented level of purity and chemical inertness, with no gas residue which could detract from the material's performance in the field.

ZOTEK® F foams
A range of foams made using the fluoropolymer Kynar® polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF).
This durable material has remarkable properties, highly resistant to damage from UV light, nuclear radiation and a wide range of corrosive chemicals and aggressive solvents.
It has a high dielectric strength, meaning that it can withstand high electric voltage without its insulation properties failing. It is a pure, biologically-inert substance with low toxicity and thermally stability.
When combined with the light weight, flexible, buoyant, highly insulating (both thermally and acoustically), nature of the foam, this is a truly ground-breaking product.
The range has a number of variants, for example:
Zotek F HT (high temperature) provides thermal stability with an operational temperature limit of 160°C which is 50°C over a standard Zotek F. It also offers enhanced resistance to chemicals and solvents and more structural rigidity.
Zotek F HT LS(high temperature, low smoke) is optimally flame retardant releases an exceptionally low amount of smoke in the event of fire, so is ideal for use as sealing and insulation in environments where this is crucial - namely the chemical, pharmaceutical and semiconductor industries.
The ZOTEK F range, with its high-performance characteristics for insulation and flammability, is an obvious candidate for use in the aviation and aerospace industries and is used extensively.
At KCL we are able to convert all Zotek F grades using a variety of processes such as thermoforming, sawing, die-cutting, water-jet cutting, gluing, welding and laminating.
ZOTEK® N foams
A range of foams made using the man-made polyamide, nylon 6.
Nylon 6 is exceptionally tough and durable and can withstand extremely high temperatures,up to 170°C. It also effectively resists a range of aggressive chemicals, alcohols, ketones and notably hydrocarbons such as oils and fuels.
When made into a ZOTEK N closed-cell, cross-linked foam, it has the added properties of lightness in weight, flexibility, buoyancy and high levels of thermal and acoustic insulation.
With regard to commercial and industrial use, for example, ZOTEK N foams, with their unique characteristics of retaining structural integrity at very high temperatures, are ideal for use as seals and gaskets, semi-structural and energy- absorbing applications in engine compartments.
As with ZOTEK F, KCL is able to manipulate and convert ZOTEK N foams with numerous processes to create end products which meet any client's requirements. In addition, we can thermoform ZOTEK N into complex shapes which attain a high-level of mechanical functionality, sealing and thermal/acoustic insulation.
