AZOTE® is the group brand that incorporates the high-quality polyolefin foams manufactured by Zotefoams.
Kewell Converters have been an approved independent distributor and certified fabricator of AZOTE® foams for many years and are proud to offer these excellent products to our customers in any size or shape they need.
AZOTE® foams are available in densities from 15kg/m3 to 115kg/m3 and in a wide variety of colours that can be heat-laminated together to produce different colour combinations. We have a large stock of foam raw materials on site and can often accommodate urgent requests and orders. Please call us to discuss your requirements.
You can read more about the benefits of using AZOTE® foam and the individual AZOTE® product types below:
- PLASTAZOTE® Foam: Closed cell, cross-linked LDPE, HDPE and blends
- EVAZOTE® Foam: Closed cell, cross-linked EVA copolymers
- SUPAZOTE®: Closed cell, cross-linked EMA copolymer
What are AZOTE® foams?
The three AZOTE® foams listed above differ in which base polymers are used for manufacture, but are all made using the same unique nitrogen expansion process. The term ‘azote’ actually comes from the French word for nitrogen.
The use of nitrogen (an inert, tasteless, odourless gas) is what gives these products their exceptional properties (water and chemical resistant, high UV light resistance, odourless, flexible, lightweight, and strong) and means that AZOTE® foams have an incredibly wide variety of applications.
Zotefoams’ unique use of nitrogen gas in the manufacturing process also gives these AZOTE® foams additional advantages over those foams that are expanded using chemicals; AZOTE® foams do not corrode, stain or degrade, and there are no harmful gases present to seep out over time.
There are far too many applications of AZOTE® foams to list them all, but some example are given with the list of benefits below. Please visit the individual product pages for further information on how each foam type is commonly used.
Benefits of AZOTE® foams
- The purity of AZOTE® foams means that they have a wide range of hygienic applications for use in the healthcare market. The non-corrosive nature of the nitrogen used in expansion means that AZOTE® products are also commonly found in protective casing for weapons and munitions.
- The inherent water and chemical resistance of these foams makes them ideal for products such as gaskets and expansion joints in the automotive industry, as well as eaves-fillers for buildings and construction.
- High durability and strength has led to the application of AZOTE® foams in re-useable packaging, particularly protective inserts for cases and boxes.
- Even the most complex shapes can be produced cheaply and easily with AZOTE® foams, thanks to the high consistency of the material, with sheets available as thin as 1mm.
- AZOTE® foams not only provide excellent insulation, but are also flame retardant and very low weight, so are invaluable for use in the automotive, aviation, aerospace and construction industries.
- The buoyancy of AZOTE® foams makes them suitable for use in personal flotation devices, boats and even floating oil pipelines.
- AZOTE® foams also have high energy absorption properties, which has led to their application in protective products such as those used in contact and extreme sports.
