In today's world of highly technical engineering, at Kewell Converters Ltd., we excel in producing high performance foam gaskets for applications in a number of industries where reliability and meeting stringent functioning parameters is paramount.
These include the semi-conductor industry, photovoltaics, medical and pharmaceutical, aviation and aerospace - both military and civil - chemical, oil and gas industries and the food industry.
Each of these sectors has different requirements and, at KCL, we are able to deliver in every respect with effective design, engineering and production solutions. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is supported by a knowledgeable and technically-skilled workforce and our reputation for excellence has spread across the world.
For high performance gaskets, the material of choice is polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) foam. We use Zotek®F foam from Croydon company Zotefoams plc. because we are confident that its quality is consistent and perfect for the application. However, other foams are available, for example soft open cell or slow recovery, with different properties for specific applications. Our technical team will be able to advise on the best foam for your requirements.
Zotek®F is closed-cell with a fine, uniform cell structure. It's highly pure, non-reactive, chemical, UV, water and flammable resistant, and approved both by NASA and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It withstands temperatures up to 160° C and has outstanding sealing capabilities.
It's available in a range of densities and easy to machine into complex shapes, including bolt holes and provided with or without - pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing.
